Sunbeam-2004-14

VIN: B9200928 LRX sb ( Left hand drive, Roadster, non-standard; Sealed Beams)

Units built: 5,863, between Mar 1963 and Jan 1964
This one built week of 4/8-4/12 1963, 191 built that week.

SAL:  025717

Motor:  B9118381 (1/22-1/26 1962) {anyone know anything about the car this motor came from?}

Paint : orginal code= 68 (Autumn Gold Metalic), painted with Ford MoCo "Festiva Red"-
just just because I like the color.

This is how it begins:

Like an idiot, you can't just drive on by.. NO, you need to stop..
You've fallen for this before- DON'T DO IT! Too late, you bought it!

Before-0Before-1

Before-FrontBefore-3

Boxes and boxes of PARTS- some that don't even go to this car (the owner just didn't want to go to
the dump, so he included them in the "deal").

So the fun begins:

Rust, dirt, spiders (I should have fumigated the car first, daddy-long-legs really make a mess of a
paint-job). Now if I could just trade some of these mystery parts for the ones I REALLY need..

Mid-0Mid-1

Mid-2Mid-3

Almost there:

Now we're getting somewhere! Good enough looking to move to the front of the house. Let's see,
120 feet / 48 hours = 4.7 e-4 MPH! Look out land speed records. Front brakes done, waiting for
rear shoes to show up. Time to tangle with the "Prince of Darkness" ie Lucas Electronics, horns, turn
signals and wipers would be nice to have!

Pass-1

Uck! The color is NOT right. Let's strip it down an re-paint it a color I like.

 Latest work-

I got sick and tired of PPG not being able (or willing) to match the original color, so it is now RED.
A very nice Ford red. Along with an alternator, Mikuni carb and a dual braking system. While we're
at it, I'm tired of the Lucas distributor- lets put a Mallory Unilite in it.

You're not expecting "After" pics are you?

These projects NEVER get completed.
